It is a small grape with intense flavors and is used in the famous Moscato d'Asti, Clairette de Die and the Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise.

Moscato d'Asti is a DOCG ("Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita") in Italy which produces a sparkling, semi-sweet white wine with usually no more than 5% of alcohol. The price of this wine is often very friendly, and the low percentage of alcohol makes them easy to drink even after a meal with heavy wines. Although is is usually referred to as a dessert wine, it is not as sweet as for instance Sauternes, so be careful not to serve it with very sweet desserts.
