Winery information

Léoville Barton is one of the three Léoville estates in St. Julien. The Barton family acquired part of the large Léoville estate, which was split up in different parts  after the Marquis de las Cases had died. Along with Château Langao-Barton, it is still in possession of a family member: Anthony Barton.

The location is fantastic, on the bank of the Gironde river, with a soil that consists of gravel and clay. Léoville-Barton produces a second growth (2ème Grand Cru), which still offers good value for money. It does not have the greatness of a Léoville las Cases, but on the other hand, prices are still reasonable while Las Cases commands 1er Grand Cru prices.
